The next time you're in downtown San Luis Obispo, you may notice some new holiday banners.
The city added a series of bright and colorful banners celebrating winter celebrations around the world.
Downtown businesses are also getting festive by participating in the holiday window decorating contest, continuing the "Holidays Around the World" theme.
First place this year went to Jules D., followed by Change of a Dress Resale Boutique in second, and Bluebird Salon in third.
Best in Theme was awarded to Junk Girls, Hemp Shak received Honorable Mention, and The Sock Drawer received the People's Choice award.
Shoppers are invited to check out all of the elaborately decorated store windows during the Downtown SLO Holiday Stroll on Friday, Dec. 13. Participating stores will be staying open late and offering special deals and treats.
