A bicyclist was injured and a driver arrested following a hit-and-run in Los Osos Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol says the initial call came in just before 11 a.m. reporting a driver had hit a bicyclist on Los Osos Valley Road near Sombrero Drive, which is near the Los Osos Valley Memorial Park, and taken off.
CHP says officers were able to get at least a partial description of the vehicle, which later crashed in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Santa Rosa Avenue in San Luis Obispo.
Due to the location of the crash, the San Luis Obispo Police Department is handling that investigation.
CHP says it’s recommending charges of hit-and-run and DUI involving drugs be filed against the driver, identified as a 49-year-old woman from San Luis Obispo.
The bicyclist, a 66-year-old Los Osos man, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of major injuries, including a fractured leg, according to CHP.
No other information was immediately available as the investigation is ongoing.
