Driver crashes stolen vehicle into wall in Grover Beach

A vehicle reported stolen from a Grover Beach home last week and spotted in the City Tuesday is now totaled.

The Grover Beach Police Department says detectives first saw the vehicle being driven in the city at about 2 p.m.

Assistance from the California Highway Patrol was requested.

Police say the driver did not stop and a pursuit began, but the driver eventually crashed into a wall in front of a home near Atlantic City Avenue and 5th Street in Grover Beach.

The driver reportedly ran off without his passenger.

After a chase, a CHP officer reportedly took the driver into custody two blocks away from the scene of the crash. The passenger was also taken into custody.

The two now face multiple charges.

Police say the crash totaled the stolen vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
