A driver was killed after crashing into a tree on the 2300 block of El Camino Real in Atascadero early Sunday morning.

According to the Atascadero City Police Department, Atascadero police and Atascadero Emergency Services responded to the collision at around 12:11 a.m.
Dispatch was notified a single vehicle had crashed into a large oak tree, officials said.
The male driver was the only occupant of the car, according to the police department.
Atascadero Police Department's Crime Scene personnel is currently investigating the crash.
Police say It is not yet known if alcohol was involved in the crash.
