Drivers in Santa Maria are advised that temporary, short delays will occur on various streets due to the City's annual street maintenance surface seal program.

The project begins on Monday, September 9 and continues through mid-October.

The most notable streets include Battles Road, Carmen Lane, Sonya Lane, Enos Drive, McClelland Street, McCoy Lane, and Fairway Avenue.

Several residential neighborhoods will also be resurfaced, including The Carriage District, Adam School Neighborhood, Country Club South, and Crossroads South.

The work includes the removal of existing road striping, the placement of a surface seal, and the re-establishment of traffic striping.

The City is contracting with VSS International to perform the $1.9 million project. Approximately 600,000 square yards of surface seal will be applied.

Questions may be directed to the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division at (805) 925-0951 extension 2225.
