DMV urges Californians to get Real ID before rush

Posted at 5:31 PM, Dec 30, 2019

The DMV wants residents to be prepared if they plan to fly within the U.S. in 2020.

Starting October 1, anyone who plans to fly within the U.S. or access federally secure facilities and military bases will need a Real ID.

Californians applying for a real ID at a field office need proof of citizenship and residency.

The DMV is urging residents to apply early and not wait until the last minute.
