Christmas came early this year for the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo and Parade.

AGCO named the Elks Rodeo Committee the 2019 Sowing Good Deeds award winner at the recent PRCA Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

The prize included a $50,000 Massey Ferguson tractor, and that tractor arrived in Santa Maria on Monday.

AGCO's Sowing Good Deeds program showcases rodeo committees and the positive impact they have in their local communities, focusing on community impact, innovation, and overcoming adversity.

In addition to the rodeo itself and the Mini Rodeo presented for local third graders, the Elks Rodeo Queen contest has given more than $13 million to youth recreation programs and every year, the rodeo brings 25 children with life-threatening illnesses to the rodeo for special activities.

The new tractor replaces the rodeo's 30-year-old tractor.
