UPDATE (8:54 p.m.): Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Daniel Bertucelli says a father and son from Carpinteria were riding bikes through the Buckhorn Trail in the Los Padres National Forest when the dad began suffering a medical emergency.
Santa Barbara County fire crews and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office used their Joint Air Support Unit Helicopter from above as other fire personnel took UTVs to locate the family.
The man was taken to Cottage hospital with the helicopter.
Santa Barbara County fire crews used the UTVs to take the son out of the trail.
The man's condition is unknown at this time.
