Emergency personnel from San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties are working to extricate two people from a vehicle 150 feet over the side of the Cuesta Grade.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says the Santa Barbara County Air Support Helicopter was requested to assist with the rescue.
Firefighter-paramedics from SBC Fire Station 32 were asked to fly in the helicopter to help extricate the patients and treat them on scene if needed.
The current condition of the people in the vehicle is unknown at this time.
According to the CHP Incident Log, some road closures may be put in place to better assist emergency personnel.
