Expecting parents and those thinking of having kids got a variety of parenting advice from childcare experts in San Luis Obispo.

Parents in the San Luis Obispo community gathered for the inaugural Birth, Baby and Family Expo at the Ludwick Community Center.

The expo, hosted by the Central Coast Childbirth Network, featured a diverse network of birth professionals and other organizations in San Luis Obispo County including doulas, doctors, and midwives.

Organizers said the event provides valuable family planning and healthcare information through live talks, demos and games.

"This expo is all about giving people the resources in one spot, one location, and having that one-on-one connection to learn what are your options, what are your rights in childbirth and getting different perspectives in childbirth and parenting," said Zabrina Cox, president of the Central Caost Childbirth Network.

Cox said in the future, the Central Coast Childbirth Network hopes to have two expos per year, one in San Luis Obispo County and one in Santa Barbara County.
