The San Luis Obispo Garbage company is gearing up for Clean Up week, which starts Monday, Sept. 9 and runs until Friday, Sept. 13.

All week the garbage company will pick up additional trash, recycling and greenhouse waste on regular trash day.

To participate, San Luis Obispo residents need to place the additional garbage on the curb no later than 6 a.m. on trash pick up day in an accessible area.

This service is free to all single-family residential customers.

Here are some rules for clean up week:

Garbage can be placed in standard trash cans, or it can be tied to standard trash containers that will be emptied and left on the curb. Any boxes or plastic bags filled with trash will be taken away with the garbage.

Containers or bundles must weigh 75 pounds or less and must be four feet or less in overall length.

No hazardous materials will be taken.
