A Grover Beach woman turned 86 Sunday and several community members made sure she had a special celebration.

Grover Beach Mayor Jeff Lee led a surprise car parade to wish Jo-Ann Dubois a 'Happy Birthday'.

There were at least 20 cars that drove by her home and among them were her neighbors, gym buddies, coworkers and family members.

Dubois said she wasn't expecting anything at all for her birthday because of the coronavirus pandemic, but it was a surprise she said she'll never forget.

"It was wonderful, a great surprise. It really was a surprise," said Jo-Ann Dubios, the birthday girl.

She said she missed going out with her friends and dancing with them at Zumba.
