Federal prison officials are investigating a fight at the United State Penitentiary in Lompoc.
It happened at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Officials say staff broke up a fight involving multiple inmates. One inmate reportedly suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment.
Following the fight, prison officials say the inmates were secured in their housing units and the facility was placed on a limited operational status.
Officials say no staff or other inmates were hurt and the public was never in danger.
