Firefighters helped keep a garage fire from spreading to nearby homes in Atascadero.
Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of the fire shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday on the 7400 block of Santa Ysabel.
Fire officials say crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the outside of the two-car garage, which wasn’t attached to the home.
Firefighters were able to gain access to the fire, which was spreading to the attic, and put it out.
No one was injured and investigators have not released information on what may have sparked the fire.
