Fire damages Lompoc apartment

Firefighters in Lompoc responded to an apartment fire Tuesday on Bell Ave.

The fire reportedly started in the living room. Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to other rooms.

Five people who live in the apartment are displaced as a result of the fire and the Red Cross has been called to help them.

Those who were home when the fire broke out were able to escape. One person was evaluated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
