Firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire early Monday morning in Atascadero.
The fire broke out shortly before 1 a.m. at a home in the 5300 block of Vega Avenue.
Fire officials say crews arrived to find the house engulfed in flames. They say it was difficult getting enough water to the location because the home was a significant distance from the nearest hydrant.
It took about two hours for firefighters to fully control the fire.
Everyone inside the house reportedly got out safely, but a dog was missing.
