Firefighters extinguish house fire in Montecito

Firefighters with the Montecito Fire Protection District extinguished a structure fire at a home in the 2000 block of Boundary Drive in Montecito today. Security at the residence reported the fire.

Fire officials say crews arrived to see smoke coming from the front door, subfloor vents, and attic vents of the single family home.

A second alarm was called due to a possible attic fire.

Available units responding to the incident included 7 engines, 1 truck company, 1 urban search and rescue vehicle, 1 rescue, 1 ambulance, and several command vehicles on scene.

There were more than 35 firefighters on scene, with no injuries reported.

Responding agencies included the Montecito Fire Protection District, Santa Barbara City Fire Department, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District and AMR.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
