Crews extinguished a residential fire in Montecito late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

According to a news release from the Montecito Fire Protection District, firefighters responded to a report of a two-story, single family residential structure fire on the 700 block of Park Lane at about 11:41 p.m.

Once crews arrived, officials said the residents were home at the time of the fire and were able to safely leave. None of the residents reported any injuries, said fire crews.

The fire appeared to come from the chimney and extended into the walls, the second floor and the attic, according to the fire department.

More than 30 firefighters from the Montecito Fire Protection District, Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District fought to contain the fire, which was controlled at 1 a.m.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
