Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vegetation fire near New Cuyama Monday morning.
Fire officials say the fire was reported at 9:04 a.m. in the area of Schoolhouse Canyon, near Highway 166.
The fire was growing at a slow rate of speed and forward progress has been stopped.
Fire crews are working on control lines.
Nobody was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
