First responders rescue injured paraglider at Montecito Peak
First responders with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department rescued an injured paraglider at Montecito Peak Sunday afternoon.
Officials say they responded to reports of a down paraglider at Montecito Peak several minutes before 12 noon Sunday.
The down paraglider activated an emergency locator beacon to call for help, said officials.
First responders with the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Los Padres National Forest reported to the site of the down paraglider, whom officials say has "moderate injuries."
Officials say they hoisted the patient into a helicopter and transported them to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
