Free parking at the parking garages in downtown San Luis Obispo is set to expire on October 19.

Beginning that Monday, payment will again be required at all three parking garages.

The City of San Luis Obispo temporarily stopped charging for parking downtown after stay-at-home orders went into effect. In July, the city resumed charging for parking in metered spots.

The first two hours of garage parking will remain free through the end of the year. It costs $1.25 per hour after that.

The city's three garages are located at 842 and 919 Palm Street and 871 Marsh Street.
