Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria is hosting a free "Car Seat Rodeo" this weekend.
Car seat experts will be on hand during the event to inspect car seats and explain proper installation.
California law requires children under the age of 2 to ride in a rear-facing car seat unless the child weighs 40 or more pounds or is 40 or more inches tall. Children are also required to use a booster seat until they are 8-years-old or 4'9" tall.
The car seat inspection event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, across from the hospital's outpatient entrance at 1400 East Church Street.
