Central coast non-profit organization Hats for Hope is giving $2,500 to six cancer patients as part of its Gifting Program.
The organization presented the money to the recipients and their families at a brunch honoring them at the Spyglass Inn Restaurant in Shell Beach on Sunday morning.
According to Diane Martino with Hats for Hope, the non-profit has raised more than $140k for cancer patients along the central coast for nearly 20 years.
Hats for Hope gives wigs to patients with severe hair loss from chemotherapy treatments to "help restore hope and dignity," said Martino.
Recipients must live in northern Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties between Santa Ynez and Paso Robles, demonstrate financial need and currently be undergoing cancer treatment to qualify for the cash gift from Hats for Hope.
