A portion of Highway 154 will close for 24 hours.
The closure will go into effect starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, and continuing until Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
A soft closure will be in place at the Highway 154/State Route 246 roundabout in Santa Ynez and at Highway 154 at State Route 192 in Santa Barbara. Only local residents will be allowed through with identification.
A hard closure will be in place near San Antonio Creek Road and another at Painted Cave Road. These hard closures will also be in place for emergency responders.
Crews will install a new overflow culvert in the Maria Ygnacio Creek watershed following the Cave Fire last November.
Drivers will need to use Highway 101 or SR 246 as detours.
The project will cost $2 million.
