Nearly 800 local high school seniors spent the morning at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, learning about the Cuesta Promise Scholarship.

The students got to tour classrooms and meet with faculty in different departments, as well as learn how to apply for the scholarship.

"The Cuesta Promise allows our local graduates to attend Cuesta College for two years, fee free," said Dr. Jill Stearns, Cuesta College Superintendent/President. "And it's all made possible by our local community, our neighbors who support the students of Cuesta College in an amazing way."

The Cuesta Promise was launched in 2013 and has since provided aid to nearly 4,000 San Luis Obispo County students. The college says 927 students received the Promise Scholarship last year.
