Highway 101 resurfacing project begins July 6

A Highway 101 resurfacing project along the Central Coast is set to begin Monday, July 6.

Work will take place from south of Price Canyon Road in Pismo Beach to Monterey Street in San Luis Obispo.

The project includes highway resurfacing in both directions, curb ramp reconstruction and striping. The goal is to improve travel quality on the highway and provide a smooth ride for drivers.

Lane closures will be in place on northbound 101 Sunday night through Friday morning during the overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Lane closures will be in place on southbound 101 Sunday night through Friday morning during the overnight hours from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Various ramps along this stretch of Highway 101 will close during the project. Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.

The project will cost $4.4 million. It is scheduled to be completed in October.
