After months of planning and preparation, Hobby Lobby is now open in Santa Maria.
The arts and crafts chain store is located on the 1400 block of S. Bradley Road in the former Toys R Us building.
The store is only allowing half the max occupancy inside at a time.
While social distancing is left up to the customers, shields are installed at the registers and all employees are wearing face coverings.
Shoppers are happy to see the story finally open.
"I really feel like as long as people are wearing their masks and social distancing and all, the businesses seem to really be prepared for it," said Tonya Jeffers of Santa Maria.
Toys R Us closed in the summer of 2018.
