(UPDATE 3/26) : Nicholas Sage Coronado-Watermen was in court for his arraignment Thursday morning but did not enter a plea. He is due back in court again April 2.

(UPDATE 2:15 p.m.) Grover Beach Police identify the man arrested for murder in Grover Beach Monday morning.

Police say Nicholas Sage Coronado-Watermen, 25, of Grover Beach was arrested for the murder of man in his 30's.

Coronado-Watermen has been booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.

(UPDATE: 8:00 a.m.) - Grover Beach Police say the victim is a man in his 30's who lived in the area.

According to Grover Beach Police Chief John Peters, the victim died at the hospital after suffering a blunt force trauma injury around 12:40 a.m. Monday.

Two people were detained for the murder but one was released.

The other person who remains in custody is a man in his 20's with ties to the area, Peters said.

Police say the victim and the suspect knew each other but a motive is unclear.

Peters said the victim and suspect are both transients who have had police encounters in the past.

Grover Beach Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Monday morning.

Police say it happened in a strip mall on the 1800 block of Grand Avenue.

Reports of the deadly incident came in at around 12:40 a.m.

Police say when they arrived, they located a seriously injured man in the parking lot of the strip mall. The adult male later died from his injuries.

Two people were detained at the scene. One of them was arrested for murder.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
