UPDATE (5:50 p.m.) - Fire damaged two homes in Paso Robles Tuesday afternoon.
It was first reported at around 3:45 p.m. on the 200 block of Nighthawk Drive.
Paso Robles City Fire Battalion Chief Scott Hallett says the fire was contained within about 15 minutes of the initial call.
He says the origin of the fire will take some time to determine, but says it appears at this point that the fire started outside one of the homes.
Flames were able to travel to a second-story window and caused significant damage to that portion of one home, Hallett says, adding that there is also significant damage between the two structures.
They have both been yellow tagged and Hallett says it will take some time before they are habitable again.
Six people were displaced.
Multiple agencies responded including crews from CAL FIRE, Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton and San Luis Obispo. A breathing support unit also responded from Pismo Beach.
Hallett says no injuries were reported.
Fire investigators from San Luis Obispo City Fire are at the scene and county agency SLO FIST (Fire Investigation Strike Team) is also conducting an investigation due to the magnitude of the fire.
Crews expected to remain on scene into the evening.
