Highway 246 through Lompoc will be shut down Tuesday and Wednesday while construction crews resurface the highway.
The two-day project will be done from the Highway 1/Highway 246 separation to Sweeney Rd. near Lompoc, Caltrans officials say.
According to Caltrans, the "grind & pave operations" will cause Highway 246 to fully close from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
Drivers traveling west will be directed to detour from Highway 246 to Purisima Rd. to Highway 1 "H" St. to reach Lompoc.
People heading east toward Buellton may detour onto Highway 1 "H" St. to Purisima Rd. to Highway 246.
