The beaches at Isla Vista will be closed this weekend because of the potential for a "Floatopia" event on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.
The last Floatopia was held in 2009.
The unsanctioned beach party attracted thousands of college-aged partiers who left the beaches in Isla Vista covered in trash, debris, and human waste.
Starting in 2010, Santa Barbara County began to close the beaches in Isla Vista around similar planned events.
County officials say the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office will enforce the closure.
