John's Video Palace in Paso Robles is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this Saturday, December 21.
The store, located at 124 Niblick Road, is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The main celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
At a time when many video rental stores were going out of business, owner John Taft said he saw an opening in the market.
When the Hollywood Video store in Paso Robles closed, Taft acquired the store's racks and opened up his own store.
Taft said many people still enjoy walking around, browsing videos and holding the movies in their hands.
The John's Video Palace location in Atascadero is closing on Dec. 24.
