Four juveniles suspected of burglarizing vehicles in an Orcutt neighborhood were arrested early Thursday morning.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of several people checking the door handles of cars and going through unlocked vehicles in the 700 block of Royal Terrace at about 2 a.m.

The sheriff's office says deputies arriving at the scene spotted someone getting into an SUV that had previously been reported stolen in Arroyo Grande. The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and deputies searched the area for additional suspects.

Three more juveniles were eventually arrested.

Sheriff's officials say property stolen from other vehicles in the neighborhood was found in the stolen SUV.

The juveniles were released to their parents but are expected to be charged with vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle tampering, prowling, theft during a state of emergency, petty theft, conspiracy, and violation of nighttime curfew.

Sheriff's officials are requesting any video footage that neighbors may have of the suspects. Anyone with information that may help deputies with their investigation is urged to call the Santa Maria Sheriff's Substation at (805) 934-6150 or email Deputy Riggar at mar4987@sbsheriff.org.
