The U.S. Census Bureau is looking for temporary workers for the 2020 Census.

The bureau says it needs to hire about 500,000 census takers across the country.

California Job Services in San Luis Obispo will hold a Job Information Workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 23, for those interested in a position. It's scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 800 Industrial Way.

The event will include information on available jobs and the duties of each.

If hired, local employees will start work in the spring.
