A local dive shop in San Luis Obispo remembered the victims of the Conception dive boat fire Thursday evening.
SLO Ocean Currents hosted an event for the diving community to gather and honor those affected by the tragedy.
Many members of the San Luis Obispo dive community have taken trips on the Conception and know the crew personally.
The owner of SLO Ocean Currents, Anthony Reynolds, said he and many others at the event were scheduled for a dive tour aboard the Conception one month from Thursday.
Reynolds said he would still take that trip if he had the opportunity.
"It's a very safe environment. It's a tragedy. It's an accident, something we can't erase," Reynolds said. "That's the bottom line."
Reynolds said this night was about coming together as a dive community and paying respect to the lives lost.
