Some Central Coast hospitals are reporting a rise in the theft of some equipment.
Dignity Health Central Coast says people have been “unnecessarily removing” hospital masks and sanitizers.
Hospital officials say the specific masks being taken are designed for the health and safety of patients but do not protect against COVID-19.
French Hospital Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande and Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria are all Dignity Health hospitals.
