A San Luis Obispo nurse is being highlighted in a national advertising campaign for her decision to switch careers and help save premature babies.
Cee Cee Curry is a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
Curry was nominated by her sister for the Ad Council's newest campaign, Find Something New, that encourages people to train for different jobs.
After over 20 years as a professional dancer and losing her mom to cancer, Curry decided to trade her dancing shoes for scrubs and enrolled in nursing school at 35-years-old.
"I didn't think that I would find something that would make an impact in this world. I didn't know that there was something out there for me that would make a difference in someone else's life.," Curry said. "This is my purpose. This is why I'm here."
Curry's commercials for the Ad Council are available online nationally and will possibly air on television too.

This Saturday, Sierra Vista will host a drive-thru version of its annual NICU reunion, giving Curry and her fellow nurses a chance to reconnect with the children they cared for in the hospital and their families.
