The Lompoc Unified School District is making sure no student goes hungry, even if they are learning from home.

Up to 20,000 meals are being served a week with help from bus drivers, staff and noon aides.

"Now more than ever I think the community is really seeing how important the work is that we do and that we are just here to feed the kids, no matter what. Covid or not we're here to make sure the kids get fed,” Hannah Carroll, director child nutrition services Lompoc Unified School District.

The rest of the school year is unpredictable as of now, but the district is prepared to keep giving out meals.

This Friday, families can pick up baskets before the holiday break.
