The Lompoc City Council voted to postpone the Fourth of July fireworks show because of coronavirus concerns, according to a city of Lompoc press release.
They voted 5-0 in favor of not holding a show this year.
Officials said the money will be refunded to those who had donated.
The council said they were already trying to find a new venue; however, city staff asked to reconsider postponing the event or finding an alternative due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Public safety officials such as the police and fire department chiefs advised the council against holding a fireworks show, according to the release.
