Several community members in Lompoc gathered on North H Street and Central Avenue Thursday to participate in a social justice solidarity rally honoring the life of George Floyd.
The rally was scheduled to take place from 5-6:30 p.m. and included words of reflection, music and a moment of silence for Floyd.
Dancers carried out a healing ceremony and dance, followed by music sung by Rev. Darrell Tullis.

Marcus Wilkins, an executive board member of the NAACP, says attendees are carrying out a peaceful gathering and are focusing on advocating for racial justice.
Floyd died May 25 after an ex-officer with the Minneapolis Police Department kneeled on Floyd's neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds while Floyd was in custody.
