Lompoc homicide victim was shot, police say

Lompoc police say a man who was found dead over the weekend in the 700 block of North 4th Street sustained gunshot wounds.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say officers were originally called to the scene for a report of a person not breathing or moving after being stabbed, but further investigation revealed the man had been shot.

Police are asking anyone with information that may help with the investigation into this incident to call the Lompoc Police Department at (805) 736-2341. Tips can be made anonymously.
