Lompoc police make arrest in attempted murder case

Lompoc police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder for a shooting in February.

Police say shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, Daniel Diaz Salazar shot a man who was standing outside of his vehicle in the 600 block of North H Street.

The victim showed up a short time later at Lompoc Valley Medical Center and was treated for a gunshot wound.

Police say investigators identified Diaz Salazar as the suspect and he was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 31.

The 18-year-old also faces gang-related charges.
