The Lompoc Police Department released its latest numbers for traffic collisions in the area, hours after a pedestrian got hit by a vehicle Thursday morning.

The collision was reported at around 7:30 a.m. at O St. and Ocean Ave.

Lompoc police said they have recently seen a spike in crashes.

To date, the police department said it is investigating 300 traffic collisions with 88 of them ranging from minor to major injuries. Eleven of those are vehicle versus pedestrian. They are also investigating one deadly crash involving a pedestrian from earlier this year.

Due to the spike in car collisions, the Lompoc Police Department wants to remind the public to be extra conscious and to practice safe driving.
