Schools within the Lompoc Unified School District will remain closed through April.
Calls from various school officials went out to parents Wednesday morning notifying them about the decision to extend the closure, which was originally set to last through the beginning of April.
Staff is reportedly communicating daily with county and state officials regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.
Parents are told they will receive weekly updates from the district on the status of the schools.
Food services are still being offered during the closure.
