After nearly five years, Lompoc's Scratch Kitchen is closing its doors.

The restaurant focused on farm-to-table meals sourced locally and made from scratch.

Co-owner and executive chef Augusto Caudillo says the decision to close the restaurant was difficult, but growing his business in Lompoc just hasn't been working out.

"We're just gonna take a break, really get reacquainted with our families and just destress and take a little bit of a break before we even think or focus on another project," Castillo said.

Scratch Kitchen's last day will be Sunday, Aug. 18.

Caudillo says they hope to open another restaurant in the future.
