A long-time Santa Maria music store is closing its doors.
Owens Music Co., located at 201 E. Main St., has been open for 46 years.
Shop owners Don and Carol Owens say they're ready to retire and plan to close for good by the end of the year.
In the meantime, pianos, guitars, sheet music, sound mixers, speakers and instrument parts are all on sale.
"It's been a really great time for me to meet the teachers and meet some of clients that come in and spend time with them," said Carol Owens.
She adds that while many local music teachers purchase sheet music or books from their shop, over the years, people have turned to online for piano purchases.
Owens closed its San Luis Obispo location about two years ago.
