Magnitude 3.0 earthquake hits Monterey County

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake hit Monterey County shortly after 5:00 p.m. Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake happened near Parkfield, Ca., which is approximately 30 miles from Cholame, and 40 miles from Paso Robles.

It is not yet known if there have been any injuries or damages reported as a result of the earthquake.
