The city of Santa Maria is encouraging the community to share their hopes and wishes.
The popular Wishing Trees will make their return to the City of Santa Maria Public Library this December, beginning on Saturday, November 30th.
The trees will be placed on the first floor of the library across from the Circulation Desk.
Visitors are encouraged to take a tag, write a wish on it, and place it on the tree or read the wishes from other community members.
"I think it's a way for patrons to express their feelings, especially if they are going through harder times and it's just a way to put it out there in the universe," said Gillian Speicher, a librarian.
The Library's hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Library is closed on Sunday. It is located at 421 South McClelland Street.
