(Aug. 14, 2019) - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is looking for witnesses to a report of a kidnapping.

Sheriff's officials say it happened at about 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7 at the Albertsons grocery store in Buellton.

Investigators say a man took a two-year-old child out of a shopping cart and started walking toward the exit. The child's parent reportedly stopped the man and he released the child before leaving the store.

The sheriff's office has identified the suspect in this case as William "Bill" Henderson, 56, the owner of Compass Wine Tours.

Deputies reportedly arrested Henderson on Tuesday, August 13 and booked him into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping and misdemeanor child endangerment. His bail is set at $100,000.

Investigators say they're concerned there could be other similar incidents involving Henderson that have not been reported to law enforcement.
