A man suffered critical injuries Tuesday after falling off a horse on Hollister Ranch in southern Santa Barbara County, according to fire officials.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says crews responded to the area at about 11:12 a.m.
The man, described as being in his 70s, was found approximately 100 feet down a ravine. He was hoisted into a helicopter and flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Fire officials say the horse was not located.
An Ambulance and search and rescue crews also responded to the scene but were not utilized due to the man’s location.
No other information was immediately available.
